Set-up begins at 8AM, Saturday June 26. We begin operating at 2PM on Saturday and continue until 2PM Sunday June 27.
HOW TO GET THERE! : Go by the boat ramp and camp grounds…turn right at the big flag pole onto Anderson Blvd.

You will see a sign that says Historic Fort and Fishing Pier right before the stone gate supports. Turn left on that road.

Follow the paved road…it will bend sharp to the right.

Watch on your left for a sand road with a sign that says “Park Dept. Vehicles Only”. Turn onto the sand road and follow it for a short distance and you will be in the set up area. Please stay on the mowed grass!

The road will bend right toward the Gulf of Mexico…
There will be an Osprey Nest on a pole to your left on the sand road… we must keep away or Ranger Bob will have a fit.
We will monitor our repeater (145.310 PL 103.5) and 147.550 simplex inside the park. Hope to see you there!

No comments29th Annual Art Arbor Family Festival
Next Saturday & Sunday Nov 7th & 8th is the 29th Annual Art Arbor Family Festival at Boyd Hill Nature Trail (located at the south end of Lake Maggiore; 1101 Country Club Way South).
Tom AI4QP is looking for communicators to man the two parking lots and call by radio to report empty parking places. It makes it easy on the public not to have to drive around looking for a spot. It is a fun gig especially if we have too many hams there (makes for a lot of bull to shoot).
Please email me if you would like to help out. If you can stay for a 2 hour shift, that would help out greatly. Bring a chair, a few drinks and join us in the fun. After parking duty (or before) you can enjoy the festival with music, food and exhibit booths there is stuff to buy and stuff to see.
The festival runs Saturday and Sunday from 10 AM to 5 PM. Knock off time varies but is usually around 3 or 4 PM.

No commentsCERT Amateur Radio Net
Starting this Thursday and continuing the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month at 8:00 PM, we will have the CERT Amateur Radio Net to test communications and hold training sessions. The net will start on the N4AAC Repeater 145.310 – with a PL Tone of 103.5, then after check-ins and training we will move to 146.580 simplex for a quick check-in to see how well we can work on simplex. This is a directed net so just listen to and follow net control’s instructions for our new people.
I hope to hear you all there.
