No commentsCERT Amateur Radio Net
Starting this Thursday and continuing the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month at 8:00 PM, we will have the CERT Amateur Radio Net to test communications and hold training sessions. The net will start on the N4AAC Repeater 145.310 – with a PL Tone of 103.5, then after check-ins and training we will move to 146.580 simplex for a quick check-in to see how well we can work on simplex. This is a directed net so just listen to and follow net control’s instructions for our new people.
I hope to hear you all there.

Alphalpha Technician Class, Morton Plant
The Alphalpha Tech Class at Morton Plant was successful with 6 out of 7 passing the Tech Exam Monday evening at CARS. It seems there is always one person that knows the material but freezes up at exam time. He will not be discouraged and will take it again very soon. CARS can now input the information directly to the FCC and have the new call signs back the same evening.
You will meet some of these folks at the Lighthouse this weekend. Please talk it up and show them around.

Amateur Extra Exam Math Equations
No commentsI designed this document as an aid for reviewing the mathematics necessary to solve the exam questions. It does not cover the mathematical or electrical theories behind the equations. To study the theory, I highly recommend The ARRL Extra Class License Manual and Gordon West’s Extra Class FCC License Preparation for Element 4. Both of these publications were of great help to me in preparing for my Amateur Extra Class exam.
